Taylor Wessing advises Nujira Ltd on its £4.2m financing round
Taylor Wessing's Cambridge office has advised Cambridge-based company, Nujira Ltd, developers of advanced power amplifier technology for the wireless industry, on its £4.2m Series A funding round. The round was co-led by 3i and the lead seed investor, Amadeus Capital Partners, along with existing investors including the Cambridge Gateway Fund and certain Cambridge business angels.
Power amplifiers are building blocks for wireless communication networks that are found in every cellphone and cellular base station and are essential to the transmission of all wireless signals. The funding will be used to further grow and develop the cellular base station market, with an anticipated resurgence of this market due within the next few years. This estimate is based on the continued growth of subscribers and base station upgrades. The number of cellular base station units is predicted to grow from 1.8 million in 2004 to 3.5 million in 2009.
The Taylor Wessing team advising Nujira comprised Cambridge head, Simon Walker, and Julia Gooch.
Osborne Clark advised both 3i and Amadeus.
