Taylor Wessing advises Compagnie de Saint Gobain on €2,125bn acquisition
Taylor Wessing's European Corporate Group has advised new French client Compagnie de Saint Gobain (CSG), a world leader in engineered materials, on the acquisition of maxit Group from HeidelbergCement for €2,125 billion.
Compagnie de Saint Gobain has entered into an agreement with HeidelbergCement on the sale of maxit Group. The closing is subject to regulatory approval and Compagnie de Saint Gobain expects the transaction to close in late 2007.
maxit Group is the leading premix and exclay producer and provider of premix plants and machinery in Europe with more than 100 plants in some 30 countries and an annual turnover exceeding €1.2 billion.
The Taylor Wessing teams advising CSG were led by Corporate partners Peter Hellich, Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais and Dirk Lorenz from Taylor Wessing Dusseldorf and Munich. The cross-jurisdictional team of over sixty lawyers, made up of lawyers from Taylor Wessing in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium, was co-ordinated by Taylor Wessing's Munich and Dusseldorf offices. Co-ordination also included orchestrating teams from 20 other law firms teaming up with Taylor Wessing in the due diligence phase.
HeidelbergCement was advised by German firm Gleiss Lutz.
