Taylor Wessing acts on £7 million worth of VC funding rounds for hi-tech industry leaders

01-Feb-2007  |  Corporate, Private Capital

Taylor Wessing acted on £7 million worth of VC funding rounds for push communication technology leader Skinkers Limited (£2 million) and for Nujira Limited (£5 million), the company leading the development of advanced high efficiency power amplifier technology for the wireless industry. The deals completed on 12 and 26 January, respectively.

Skinkers is using the funding to launch Skinkers Live Delivery Network, an innovative peer-to-peer network which enables both businesses and consumers to receive high quality, digital feeds in real time to their desktops. The majority of the funds have been provided by NewMedia SPARK, a London based venture capital firm.

The Nujira funding round was co-led by current investors 3i and Amadeus Capital Partners. The round included further investment by Cambridge Gateway Fund, Cambridge Capital Group and the Cambridge Angels. Nujira will use the new investment to ramp up the manufacture of its power amplifier efficiency technology to meet customer demand and further commercialise the technology. The funding will also be used to broaden the product range to address a wider market.

Taylor Wessing corporate advisors on both deals were Partner Simon Walker and Associate, Adrian Rainey. Associate Sian Skelton also assisted on the Nujira deal.

Simon Walker commented,

"We are delighted to have advised both of these very exciting companies on their further financing rounds which are a great endorsement of the progress they have made in their respective fields."
