New Head of Real Estate for Taylor Wessing in the UK
Adam Marks has stepped down as Head of Taylor Wessing's UK Real Estate Practice with effect from 1 November. Adam has been Head of Department since 2003. Under the four years of his leadership, the practice has almost doubled in size with Taylor Wessing's real estate capacity now exceeding 70 lawyers. Adam is returning to the full time development of his successful practice.
Taylor Wessing's property clients include: AWG, Canada Life, Diageo, Goodbody Stockbrokers, London & Regional, MWB, Prestbury, Multiplex and St George. High profile recent instructions have included Prestbury's £622million acquisition and leaseback of leisure assets from Merlin Entertainment Group in the UK and Germany as well as a £686 million sale and leaseback deal involving 21 modern private hospitals. The group has also acted on London & Regional's redevelopment of the former Marks & Spencer's headquarters at Baker Street, London W1 and on its one million square feet redevelopment of Greenwich Wharf, as well as investment purchases of more than £2.5 billion in the last 18 months.
Adam will be replaced by Keith Barnett, who has led Taylor Wessing's development team since he joined the firm in 2002 from Andersen Legal firm Garretts.
Keith comments:
"This is a very exciting opportunity to be involved in the leadership of a group which has now been established as a major legal player in the UK real estate market. I am inheriting a first class and talented team, and this is a wonderful chance to spearhead the firm's drive for further growth in real estate which is one of our core market areas."
