Media specialists, Reinhard Gaertner, Sybille Gierschmann and team join Taylor Wessing

Partners, Reinhard Gaertner and Sybille Gierschmann plus their team of two associates, Sabine Boksanyi and Katharina Mayerbacher will join Taylor Wessing, Munich office, boosting Taylor Wessing's prominent European Media & Entertainment and IT practices.

Reinhard Gaertner joins from Bird & Bird where he has been head of Media & IT in Germany since 2004. Prior to this, Reinhard was with Beiten Burkhardt, Munich. Highly regarded in the industry, Reinhard has extensive experience of media and IT law, specifically in the press and publishing sectors and counts leading German companies, especially those in the print and electronic media fields, amongst his clients. Reinhard features regularly in the German legal press and is a member of the VDZ Legal Committee (Working Committee of legal advisors - publishing) and Verband Privater Rundfunk - und Telekommunikationsanbieter e.V. (VPRT) (union of private radio and telecommunication providers). 

Sybille Gierschmann specialises in IT and data protection with particular expertise in electronic media, data protection, distribution law and e-commerce. Her clients are in the media, software and technology sectors comprising of several multi-national groups who she advises on regular audits and international projects. She has worked closely with Reinhard since 1999, first at Beiten Burkhardt and then at Bird & Bird.
