Taylor Wessing announces a further IP partner in Berlin. Dr Gregor Schmid (40) has moved to Taylor Wessing’s Media & Entertainment Team from Linklaters.

Beginning his career with Linklaters in 1999, Dr Schmid worked in the area of IP / Media & Entertainment, most recently as Managing Associate. With Dr Schmid, Taylor Wessing has won a further experienced IP and transactions partner.

In recent years Dr Schmid has advised media companies, banks and investors among others, regarding media finance, production and distribution, focussing in particular on film and television. Dr Schmid has also advised numerous companies regarding M&A transactions, particularly in the media sector, and with restructurings.

Dr Schmid’s appointment further advances the already strong growth of the Berlin office. Dr Rüdiger von Hülst, a member of Taylor Wessing’s management, said:

“Dr Schmid strengthens Taylor Wessing Berlin with his wide and varied expertise in one of our key focal areas. We began to expand our Berlin Media & Entertainment group in 2002 with Dr Martin von Albrecht and Dr Carl Claussen. With almost 40 lawyers in Berlin, we are now well positioned, and we wish to build on our targeted areas. We are delighted to be working together.”

Taylor Wessing’s Media & Entertainment Team has 99 professionals, of whom 37 are in Germany, 33 in London and 29 in Paris, making it one of the strongest in Europe.
