Taylor Wessing's Cambridge office has advised on a series of technology funding deals for clients ACT Venture Capital and Sphere Medical Holding Limited (Sphere). Taylor Wessing has:
- Advised ACT Venture Capital, as the lead investor in the $28m investment round in Frontier Silicon, a company with a range of semiconductor solutions for mobile digital television and radio. The investment will be used to manufacture silicon chips, which will enable consumers to receive and record television programmes on their mobile phones, electronic organisers or other devices including the Apple iPod.
The Taylor Wessing team comprised David Mardle and Kellie McCormack (corporate) and Malcolm Bates and Darren Bezzina (IP).
Frontier Silicon was advised by Citigroup Global Markets:
- Advised Sphere Medical Holding, a technology company, on its fundraising of £4m from a series of institutional investors. The funding is to be invested in developing products for the on-line measurement of physiological parameters and anaesthetics.
