Taylor Wessing has strengthened its Paris office with the launch of a new Banking and Finance group to complement the firm's existing international strength in that area. The group will be headed by new hire Pierre Tallot, Ph.D., who has joined the firm as a partner.

Pierre Tallot has extensive experience in advising on banking, finance and restructuring matters. He began his career in 1993 as an investment banker at Banque Arjil and later went on to serve in several companies and law firms, notably Allen & Overy and, most recently, Orrick.

Alain de Foucaud, partner in Taylor Wessing's Paris office, comments:

“We are very pleased to welcome Pierre and to take up the challenge of establishing a new practice within our Paris office. The creation of a Banking & Finance department completes our overall offering, affirms our firm’s market position and responds effectively to our clients’ needs.”

Throughout his career Pierre has worked on a variety of projects, advising an international client base comprising financial institutions, banks, investment funds, industrial and commercial companies. In particular, he specialises in advising on the origination and documentation of various structured, corporate, project and asset finance transactions. Most of these transactions had a multi-jurisdictional scope and some of them were truly innovative. In addition, Pierre has gained a significant exposure to the restructuring market.

Having decided to join Taylor Wessing in order to contribute to the development of the banking, finance and restructuring practices of the firm in Europe and abroad, Pierre comments:

“This is the perfect time to initiate a new project in close cooperation with forward-thinking professionals. Taylor Wessing not only devotes significant means to their practices and geographies, but also anticipates on market developments and business needs in order to build a law firm for the industries of tomorrow. My clients and contacts already find such an offering highly interesting. I am very happy to have the opportunity to contribute to this offering, to share my knowledge of the finance and restructuring markets and, in doing so, to strengthen from Paris the firm’s global expertise.”
