Taylor Wessing's corporate team gains further expansion
Taylor Wessing's corporate team is expanding with the arrival of corporate partner, Tom Cartwright, from Hammonds.
Tom specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and new issues work, and has particular sector expertise in financial services, and leisure and hospitality. Tom's recent highlights include advising a major US hotel chain on its European expansion programme and a FTSE 100 hospitality company on mergers and acquisitions. He also advises a number of banks, private equity and venture capital houses.
Commenting on his move to Taylor Wessing, Cartwright says,
"Taylor Wessing is probably the leading firm in Europe acting for both investors and companies on venture capital transactions and has a rapidly growing profile in mid market private equity. This provides a fantastic platform for the development of my practice."
Head of the Corporate group, David Roberts comments,
"Tom's skills are highly complementary to a number of our key strengths including: private equity, securities and hospitality and leisure. He will undoubtedly be an asset in helping us to develop further these areas both in the UK and throughout Europe."
The move happens in February 2007.
Tom joins the team of 84 lawyers in Taylor Wessing's UK corporate department, and the firm-wide team of 119 partners that comprise Taylor Wessing’s pan-European Corporate Group. The Group provides an integrated, 'one-stop shop' service across the UK, Germany, France and Belgium for some of Europe's leading corporate groups and equity houses.
