Taylor Wessing Partner Appointed Chairman of British Copyright Council
Taylor Wessing's head of copyright, Intellectual Property partner Paul Mitchell, has been appointed Chairman of the British Copyright Council (BCC), a national consultative and advisory body of some 30 members drawn from all interest groups affected by a wide range of copyright issues.
The BCC, established in 1965, is an umbrella organisation bringing together organisations which represent those who create, or hold rights in literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works and those who perform such works.
The British Copyright Council comments:
"The Council represents a range of copyright interests and need a Chairman who combines independence with specialist copyright knowledge. Paul was elected unanimously by the members of the Council. Several know Paul well on a professional basis and were quick to speak about his expertise and knowledge, the wide range of interests represented by him in the course of his legal career, his objective but sympathetic approach and his ability to communicate a balanced view. With Paul Mitchell as Chairman, we know we can further develop the Council's consultative and consensus building role."
This appointment is further testament to Taylor Wessing's market leader position in the field of Intellectual Property.
