Taylor Wessing Hotel Group advises on double first InterContinental Hotel
Leading law firm Taylor Wessing LLP has successfully advised BDL Management Limited on a Hotel Management Agreement with Tiger Developments for the new InterContinental Hotel, which will open in Edinburgh's Haymarket following a £250m redevelopment of the area. The hotel will be constructed and owned by Tiger Developments.
BDL, which currently own or manage ten IHG hotels, will operate the hotel under a 20 year Franchise Agreement as an InterContinental Hotel. The planned 5 star hotel will be a seventeen-storey building with 192 rooms and will also have bars, restaurants, meeting rooms, and spa and gym facilities.
The hotel will be the centrepiece of the £250m Haymarket redevelopment, which was approved by City of Edinburgh planners in June 2008. The project is set to include 342,000sq ft of office space and a boulevard filled with cafés, restaurants and shops.
