Taylor Wessing is delighted to announce the appointment of Len Murray as a Partner in the firm's IT, Telecoms and Competition Group.

Len Murray, formerly a senior associate at Baker & McKenzie, specialises in public and regulatory law litigation, often with a commercial background involving high profile judicial reviews. Since the beginning of 2007, he has done considerable work in the broadcasting sector and regularly advises on dealing with regulators in industries such as telecommunications and the utilities.

Taylor Wessing has recently formed a public law group in Germany and Len's appointment will increase the firm's pan-European capability in this area.  In addition, Len's expertise will complement the firm's existing practices in media, telecoms, competition, state aid (regulatory) including FSA, and gaming and price competition.

Charles Lloyd, Head of Intellectual Property and Litigation at Taylor Wessing, comments:

"Few firms have specialists who deal with the interface between business and Government or provide a 'City' service to public bodies. With our existing public law, regulation and competition practice groups, this is a natural development for us and one that we hope will consolidate our market position in this area of law."

"Len is very well regarded, having worked on a number of high profile cases for household name clients in the past. We very much look forward to welcoming him to the team."

Len Murray comments:

"There are many challenges for both public bodies and corporates in the Government/private sector interface and regulation has grown throughout many industries. I am delighted to be moving to Taylor Wessing to provide an excellent service for clients in this area and I look forward to contributing to the firm's growing practice."

Len Murray joined Taylor Wessing on 1 December 2008.
