The venture capital group of European law firm, Taylor Wessing, has advised Perpetuum, a UK-based university spinout company, on its £2.2 million series A funding round by Quester and Top Technology.

Quester, a leading UK venture capital company, led the funding round, with the remainder coming from Top Technology and Perpetuum's existing backer SULIS, a University Challenge Fund managed by Quester.

Perpetuum produces electromechanical vibration energy harvesting micro-generators, which use readily available vibrations to generate sufficient power to drive sensors, microprocessors and RF transmitters.  This enables a completely self-powered wireless and battery-less sensor node.  Perpetuum will use this funding to commercialise its technology and therefore, further develop the company.

The Taylor Wessing team advising Perpetuum comprised David Mardle, Susanna Stanfield and Sian Griffiths (corporate) and Malcolm Bates and Darren Bezzina (intellectual property).
