Taylor Wessing advises on the management buy out of Fitness Express

Taylor Wessing advised David Courteen and others on the management buy out of Fitness Express, a division of Crown Sports plc for a cash consideration of £1.15 million.

Fitness Express now manages 22 health clubs, including the Le Club Leisure facilities at the prestigious Millennium and Copthorne hotels in the UK, concentrating on the personal service and attention to detail that can only be enjoyed at smaller health clubs.

Crown Sports strategy over the last 15 months has been to focus on its core health and fitness business and to dispose of other non core businesses. The disposal of Fitness Express completes the rationalisation of the Group, following the disposals of Crown Golf, The Winning Line and Crown Content last year.
