Taylor Wessing advises on multi-million pound sale of Sir Christopher Wren's House Hotel and Spa
Taylor Wessing has advised on the multi-million pound sale of Sir Christopher Wren's House Hotel & Spa to Sarova Hotels. A cross-discipline team acted for the sellers, Sir Christopher Wren's House Limited, Wren's Hotel Group Limited and F@Wren's Limited (the "Group") and the administrators of the Group, Nick Cropper, Deborah King and Stuart Mackellar, Insolvency Practitioners at recovery specialists Zolfo Cooper.
Sir Christopher Wren's House Hotel & Spa is situated across several sites in Windsor overlooking the River Thames. The disparate nature of the site and the complexities raised by the fact that the sellers are in administration gave rise to a raft of challenges during the negotiations.
The cross-discipline Taylor Wessing team, including members of the Taylor Wessing Hotels Group, was led by partners Nick Moser (Restructuring & Corporate Recovery), Raman Sharma (Real Estate) and associates Malti Shah (Restructuring & Corporate Recovery) and Emma Oakley (Real Estate).
Nick Moser, Head of the Restructuring & Corporate Recovery Group at Taylor Wessing, says:
"We are delighted to have successfully completed the sale of the Sir Christopher Wren's House Hotel & Spa on behalf of the administrators of the Group, particularly given the current market challenges. This was a complex transaction, which required us to adopt a flexible approach. The sale will permit the continuance of a well-established business.”
