Leading law firm Taylor Wessing has advised Myotec Therapeutics Ltd, the Cambridge based speciality pharmaceutical company, on its successful £5.6m funding round. Leading technology commercialisation and investment company Imperial Innovations and Invesco Perpetual each invested £2.8m in the company.

Myotec will use the investment to fund the development of novel treatments in the field of wasting diseases, cachexia and sarcopenia,  a loss of skeletal muscle mass which reportedly affects over 20% of people by the time they reach the age of 60.

The Taylor Wessing team was led by Technology and Inward Investment partner David Mardle and associate Jennifer Ferguson.
