Taylor Wessing advises innovative tech company, PrismaStar, on £2 million funding round
Leading international law firm Taylor Wessing has advised software as service business, PrismaStar, on its latest fundraising. The cross-border investment was secured on behalf of PrismaStar Limited by Beanstalk Management, the leading corporate finance advisor specialising in the small and mid-market, which drew on its technology sector expertise to complete the £2 million investment with venture capital specialists Octopus Ventures Ltd.
PrismaStar, founded in 2002, uses patented consumer guidance technology to help consumers find the best products and services, personalised to their own individual needs. The company also provides analytics and market research data to retailers and product manufacturers.
The Taylor Wessing team advising PrismaStar drew on the firm's corporate, employment and tax expertise. Venture capital specialist Simon Walker led the team, assisted by Jen Ferguson (corporate), Mark McCanney and Declan Bradley (employment), and Peter Jackson and James Stewart (tax).
Beanstalk Management introduced this opportunity to Taylor Wessing. Beanstalk Management Director, Matthew Byatt, comments:
“In concluding this investment for PrismaStar, Taylor Wessing demonstrated a core capability to secure complex cross-border VCT investments. Their ability to provide a complete legal service and offer qualified advice on both the broad and very technical legal aspects of the transaction ensured PrismaStar were given the very best advice.”
