Taylor Wessing advises Innate Pharma on major partnership with Novo Nordisk
Taylor Wessing advised Innate Pharma, the Marseille-based biotechnology company, on a major partnership with Novo Nordisk, the Danish global healthcare company.
Innate Pharma will be working in partnership with Novo Nordisk to develop new drugs targeting natural killer cells, one of the body's first lines of defence against cancer and infections. The deal will involve a €10 million investment by Novo Nordisk in new Innate Pharma equity.
The Innate Pharma/Novo Nordisk partnership is broadly strategic and involves wide-ranging R&D based on natural killer cell biology. Innate Pharma's founders' recent discoveries in the field of natural killers hold a great deal of potential for therapeutic applications in cancers, autoimmune disorders and infectious diseases. With both companies having collaborated on an initial project for three years, thereby establishing competitive and complementary competencies in the area of immunology, this partnership will allow them to build upon this synergy.
