European law firm Taylor Wessing has acted for Light Blue Optics on a US$15 million financing round.  The Series 'A' extension was led by Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH, alongside the participation of existing investors 3i Group plc, Earlybird Venture Capital and NESTA.

Light Blue Optics (LBO) is the industry-leading developer and supplier of laser-based pico projection systems.  Its holographic laser projection technology is expected to open up new revenue opportunities in the consumer electronics space, where the market for pico projectors has been forecast to exceed US$1 billion within the next five years.  This funding will enable LBO to accelerate its project development roadmap across multiple markets, including automotive, industrial and consumer electronics.

The Taylor Wessing team advising Light Blue Optics included Venture Capital partner David Mardle, assisted by Associate Jennifer Ferguson.

Simon Jones of Osborne Clarke advised the investors.
