02-Aug-2010  |  Construction & Engineering, Real Estate & Infrastructure

Leading international law firm Taylor Wessing has advised long standing client Heron International on the construction aspects of its iconic Milton Court Tower development in the heart of the City of London.

The development, which totals in excess of £136m, is one of the largest to close in the City in recent months. Bank financing was provided by Banco Santander, HSBC and Investec.

Construction has commenced and is expected to complete in 2013. When completed the development will include The Heron, a 36-storey tower providing 284 luxury suites, apartments and penthouses, of which over 40 per cent are already sold. The lower floors will provide a new home for the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and an international concert hall.

The Taylor Wessing team was led by UK Head of Construction and Engineering Helen Garthwaite, assisted by senior associate Brandusa Tataru.

Helen Garthwaite commented:

"We are very pleased to have successfully advised Heron on its iconic Tower development, which will bring exciting new cultural benefits to the heart of the City of London."

Olswang advised Heron International on real estate and financing aspects of the development.
