Taylor Wessing has advised Google on the acquisition of mobile visual search start up Plink.  This is Google's first UK acquisition.  Plink's first product was PlinkArt, a visual recognition app for mobile that analyses pictures of well known art works and paintings and identifies them.  The founders of Plink will work on Google Goggles, the visual search project.

The Taylor Wessing team was led by technology and inward investment partner Simon Walker. The team included employment partner Sean Nesbitt, IP partner Chris Jeffery, tax partner Robert Young, senior associate Mark Barron and associate Karolina Plent from the technology and inward investment group, and IT Telecoms & Competition associate Sian Skelton.
