Taylor Wessing advises Fovea Pharmaceuticals on its €30m second financing round
Fovea Pharmaceuticals SA, a biomedical and technological company specialising in the development of innovative drug therapy for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases, has just concluded its second financing round « series B » for a total amount of €30 million, to be paid in two lots in the form of shares with equity warrants.
Investment in this financing round, led by Dutch investment fund Forbion Capital Partners, came from funds managed by Sofinnova Partners, Abingworth, The Wellcome Trust and Crédit Agricole Private Equity, two of whom had invested in the initial financing round in October 2005, thus proving the long lasting faith of the original investors.
Taylor Wessing has been advising Fovea Pharmaceuticals SA since its creation. The company is led by a reputable team comprised of managers, Bernard Gilly and Bernard Davitian, and of scientific researchers, notably from the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (NSERM), directed by Professor José Sahel.
