Taylor Wessing advises data security specialist Secerno

Taylor Wessing has advised Secerno, a leading provider of data security and control technology, on the sale of its Heterogeneous Database Firewall technology to Oracle for an undisclosed sum.

Secerno provides database protection and compliance technology to customers across a wide range of industries, including financial services, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, retail, and government agencies and departments. Secerno DataWall™ solutions includes real-time data protection and data auditing and compliance, which enables organisations to stop database threats before data is lost or compromised. Secerno is based in the UK and US.

The Taylor Wessing team advising new client Secerno was led by Partner Simon Walker and included lawyers from Technology and Inward Investment, Telecoms and Competition, Tax and Employment. Simon Walker says:

The transaction is expected to close before the end of June 2010 and Secerno’s products will add to Oracle’s existing portfolio of database security solutions.
