Taylor Wessing advises Colemont in AmWins merger
Leading law firm Taylor Wessing has acted for international insurance and reinsurance brokerage company Colemont Corporation in connection with the merger of Colemont Global Group with American Wholesale Insurance Holding Company, LLC (AmWINS).
Following the deal, announced this week, the two companies will form the leading speciality insurance distributor, placing over $4.8 billion in annual premiums with over 1,800 employees in 16 countries worldwide. Surinder Beerh, CEO of Colemont Global, will now lead AmWINS' international division, which will continue to operate as Colemont Global Group.
Surinder Beerh comments:
"AmWINS clearly recognises and appreciates the progress that we have made over the last 5 years in building a premier worldwide insurance brokerage network. Partnering with AmWINS is an exciting next step in the development of Colemont Global Group and the expansion of our international strategy.
Taylor Wessing, who have acted for Colemont from the outset, played an important role in bringing this deal to a successful conclusion. They did an excellent job and we look forward to working with them in the future.
The Taylor Wessing team was led by partners Andrew Granger (Employment), Jonathan Rogers (Financial Institutions and Markets) and Peter Kempe (Corporate) with senior associate Glenda O'Hara (Corporate) and trainee Felicity Bruno (Employment).
Andrew Granger adds:
"Colemont are longstanding and important clients of the firm. We have seen them grow rapidly and were delighted to advise Colemont on the UK aspects of this exciting merger with AmWins, particularly given its strategic significance and its potential to help them reach new customers and expand further into new territories."
