Taylor Wessing advises cleantech fund Climate Change Capital Private Equity on €9.1 million investment
Taylor Wessing has advised Climate Change Capital Private Equity (“CPE”), a €200 million fund dedicated to investments in clean technology companies, on its investment in Nualight Ltd, a leading manufacturer of LED lighting solutions to the retail sector.
CPE led a €4.1m funding round, investing €3.75 million (of ordinary and preference shares) alongside existing shareholders. They committed a further €5m jointly with existing investor ESB novusmodus, the renewable energy investment fund of ESB, the Irish State electricity company. Other investors include 4th Level Ventures, an early stage technology fund and existing shareholder.
The Taylor Wessing team advising CPE was led by partner Howard Palmer, assisted by associate Charles Fletcher. Taylor Wessing's team combines knowledge of, and expertise in, the cleantech sector with the firm's pre-eminent intellectual property and venture capital practices, giving the firm a unique position in this field.
