Taylor Wessing advised London-based digital TV operator Aggregator Limited in a £9 million Series A funding round for the commercial rollout of its new IPTV service.

Aggregator’s unique IPTV service is based on TV-over-broadband (TVoBB), a hybrid system of traditional broadcast TV and the Internet services for delivering enhanced media to the consumer. This cutting edge development is scheduled for target launch in Autumn 2006, to be rolled out over the next two years.

Leading venture capitalists comprising the funding consortium were 3i, Intel Capital and Amadeus Capital Partners, the latter of which founded Aggregator with seed investment in 2005.

Aggregator was advised by a cross-disciplinary team from Taylor Wessing that included Simon Walker and Michelle Rodrigues (corporate), Gemma Lane (employment) and Darren Bezzina (intellectual property).

Partner, Simon Walker comments, “Having advised on Aggregator's initial funding we were delighted to advise on this significant funding round that endorses the company’s continued success at forefront of the IPTV services industry."

Osborne Clarke advised the funding consortium.
