Sponsorship of Sport Events

Companies and individuals will already be aware of the importance and benefit of putting in place a properly drafted contract in any business arrangement.

Sponsorship deals are no exception to the rule. Sponsorship deals are becoming very important and including in Dubai and the region with the advent of many sports events and the upcoming Sports City and Sportex exhibition set to attract more foreign interest in the country. More and more sponsorship deals are happening here in the UAE, like the Emirates Airlines‘ sponsorship of the Chelsea football team‘s shirts (an Eight Million Euro sponsorship deal) or HSBC, General Motors and Jumeirah and the like‘s (including therightslawyers‘) involvement in the now current „The Legends ‚Rock‘ Dubai“ tennis event. Similar sponsorship deals take place in respect of music events as well.

And with more companies, organisations and competitors seeking and negotiating sponsorship deals, the need for sponsorship contracts is also becoming more important and more commonplace. So what should go in a sponsorship contract?
