On 16 October 2009, billionaire Raj Rajaratnam of Galleon Group was arrested on charges of insider dealing. The arrest highlights the Securities and Exchange Commission's willingness to use aggressive investigative methods. It seems instructive to compare the investigative powers of the respective regulators to assess whether the Financial Services Authority can match the zeal of its US counterpart.
