The work is a comprehensive handbook to the law affecting the publishing process and gives an understanding of how the law applies and is relevant to publishers, authors and agents and all those involved with published material. Publishing Law covers a range of key legal issues including copyright, libel, infringement, consumer law, data protection and advertising. It features full coverage of digital rights and e-commerce issues together with changes in EU and UK legislation including the Digital Economy Act 2010".
Chris Benson is Special Counsel at Taylor Wessing and advises on all aspects (both contentious and non-contentious) of the creation, development, protection, exploitation and distribution of copyright works. Whilst Chris led the project, he had continuous cross-team support from colleagues at Taylor Wessing. Those that contributed to the publication include: Lorna Caddy in relation to defamation, Mark Dennis and Tim Pinto on confidentiality and privacy, Nick Cody and Graham Hann on sale of goods consumer protection and advertising, Sally Annereau on data protection, and Robert Vidal and Louisa Penny on distribution and competition.
