This short briefing provides you with a concise selection of cases from previous months that will have wider application in your specialist area. The cases below all have themes of confidential information, privacy and disclosure of information. These illustrate that the legal principles in this area remain a "mixed bag" with the Courts protecting confidential information in only very specific circumstances.  It is interesting that out of the three cases, in only one did the courts actually choose to protect confidential information and that information was already in the public domain.  This highlights that assumptions are best avoided when looking at the merits of each individual case.
