MPF award for Taylor Wessing's commitment to sustainability
Taylor Wessing is celebrating after winning the Sustainability Reporting category at the prestigious MPF European Practice Management Awards. The firm was recognised for putting sustainability at the centre of the business and for successfully communicating its commitment to reducing its environmental impact to audiences inside and outside the firm.
The judges were particularly impressed by the firm's recent research report, Hitting the Green Wall…and Beyond, which was published in June 2010. The report is a collaboration between Taylor Wessing, the British Property Federation and research and communications consultancy Spada. Following the awards the judges commented:
"Taylor Wessing have created a ground breaking survey on the future of the built environment. By actively engaging the building and construction sector, the TW Report confronts real world challenges and inertia. They are not afraid to influence and advise their suppliers and clients – by analysing the survey results and putting their own point of view forward. With a cross section of the firm involved, their sustainable vision is well embedded. TW’s proactive involvement on the sectors future development toward real sustainability and CO2 reductions could be a real “game changer” and should be a benchmark for other professional service firms."
The firm's sustainability experts help clients meet the challenges presented by the sustainability agenda by advising on government regulations and helping businesses to put in place agreements, contracts and protocols to promote sustainable practices within their organisation.
Managing Partner Tim Eyles says:
"Sustainability performance is fundamental to Taylor Wessing’s vision of tomorrow - this is reflected in our client work, internal communications and the research projects we carry out. We are delighted that our commitment to sustainability has been recognised through this award."

About the European Practice Management Awards
To encourage the professional services sector to set its sights high and showcase leadership in management excellence, European Practice Management Awards were introduced by the MPF in 2002 to showcase the contribution of different disciplines (marketing, HR, technology, finance, facilities, KM etc) in managing a professional firm. Some categories are open to any eligible firm or network of firms, whilst others are presented to a single firm or individual based on merit. Rigorous judging is the responsibility of a panel of independent consultants and experts based worldwide, chaired by leading management consultant, Alan Hodgart. The Royal Bank of Scotland was principal sponsor.
