LawWorks award recognises Taylor Wessing's commitment to pro bono
Taylor Wessing has been awarded "Best Contribution by a Law Firm" at the LawWorks pro bono awards. This award recognises the Firm's ongoing commitment to pro bono work, in particular organising and staffing a local weekly legal advice clinic. The Firm also takes on individual clients through LawWorks' referral service.
The Firm set up the legal advice clinic in 2004 and there are currently 47 legal advisors, as well as 3 paralegals and support staff who assist. Over 80% of the Firm's trainees regularly volunteer at the clinic. Since opening it has provided free legal advice to over 1000 people on issues including housing, employment and debt.
Partner Paul Callaghan, who heads the Firm's Pro Bono Committee, says
