Hurdle Shares - Possible HMRC review

Whilst most commentators have picked up the increase in entrepreneurs' relief in the Budget yesterday, there was also an announcement about HMRC reviewing and consulting during 2010 in relation to "geared growth arrangements used in connection with employment-related securities".

HMRC might be referring to hurdle shares (or another type of arrangement called a joint share ownership plan). Pending the release of more information about this, it might be prudent to defer putting new hurdle share arrangements into effect.
