Hundreds rush to restructuring seminars
Leading law firm Taylor Wessing LLP is hosting a series of breakfast briefings to offer practical advice to company directors, investors and shareholders as they navigate their way through the economic downturn.
In the current economic climate knowledge is everything – particularly if your company or investment looks like it could be on shaky financial ground. When worried or in doubt who can you pick up the phone to and what are the questions you should ask? Likewise how can you best go about positioning yourself for the M&A opportunities that may arise from distressed company situations?
Taylor Wessing has bought together its experts in Reconstruction and Corporate Recovery, Corporate / M&A, Employment and Pensions, Tax, Finance and Disputes to deliver a comprehensive series of seminars that answer these and other pertinent questions, including:
- What is the formal insolvency process? How does it work?
- What are your duties as a director of a business in distress?
- What is the best way to buy a company in distress?
- What opportunities are there to restructure the company and its debt?
The seminars, which last an hour and include guest speakers and panel discussions, offer attendees analysis of potential threats and opportunities arising from the current economic climate, alongside practical advice and an opportunity for networking.
So far more than 200 delegates representing corporates, private equity houses, banks, corporate finance houses, and insolvency practitioners have attended.
Future seminars will focus on debt restructuring and a recession briefing for quoted companies. Given the firm's European-wide capabilities sessions are also being planned in the UK and Germany for companies interested in investments in those countries.
