There was "no real and substantial tort" where a claimant who was a convicted murderer, claimed libel against a publisher, as he had no reputation capable of protection.

In a positive decision for publishers, Mr Justice Eady struck out the claim as an abuse of process, applying the principle as set out in Jameel v Dow Jones.
