Being Sustainable

16-Apr-2011  |  The Middle East

If you are a resident of any of the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) states, and you intend to buy a new car, you will most probably not worry too much about its fuel consumption, considering the comparatively lower petrol prices prevalent in the Gulf. You might therefore opt for a six cylinder vehicle where you may otherwise have chosen a four instead. But if your name is Michael Krämer, you are German, you work as a lawyer at an international law firm, that incidentally has a specialized practice in the field of renewable energy and sustainability, two fields that are currently experiencing rapid growth in the Middle East, and you are an environmentalist with a ‘green heart’, you are most likely to not buy a car that runs on petrol, rather purchase for yourself an environment friendly electric car instead.

Michael Krämer introduces his new car to Top Gear Middle East who recently featured it in their magazine, BBC TopGear Arabia (March 2011 issue).

The original article, produced in Arabic, can be read here or a full English translation is also available here.

The National also went for a test drive with Michael in his new car which featured in their motoring section on 16 April and on Abu Dhabi TV on 13 April.
