Taylor Wessing is pleased to announce that
submissions for Banking, Finance & Restructuring Team of the Year; Litigation and Regulatory Team of the Year; and Best Use of Technology have made the shortlist in the 2011 British Legal Awards.

The British Legal Awards recognises achievements of law firms, teams and individuals who have responded most successfully to the demands being placed on them in the new post-recession business environment. The awards are carefully chosen to reflect the range of practice areas and skills that lie at the heart of the successful law firm or legal department.

Taylor Wessing's RCR team is a cross-jurisdictional group advising on some of the most complex and high-profile restructurings and insolvencies internationally. They are renowned for their proactive and imaginative approach to finding solutions for clients and further independent recognition has come recently, from Taylor Wessing being shortlisted as 'Insolvency Law Firm of the Year' at this year's  Insolvency & Rescue Awards 2011.

The fraud litigation Taylor Wessing has had an extremely successful 12 months.  In addition to ongoing work on unravelling the GP Noble Fraud (the largest reported pensions fraud since Maxwell), since November 2010, their expertise in cross-border fraud, asset recovery and international insolvency enabled them to win the instruction to assist the Trustee in unravelling the Madoff fraud and in the bringing of billion dollar fraud claims and actions in jurisdictions worldwide.

The third shortlist for Taylor Wessing was Best Use of Technology, following the launch of New Street Solutions, a new division within the firm that will offer a pioneering technology-enabled combination of data mining, active contract management and due diligence services. The technology behind New Street Solutions is powered by document and information management specialist Swiss Post Solutions (SPS). The tech-based offering is the first of its kind on the market and, in trials, delivered efficiency savings of a minimum of 60% on the cost of core business and legal processes.

The shortlist and winners will be chosen by an independent panel of judges made up of senior in-house lawyers, former managing and senior partners and other senior business figures.
