Wolfgang Gruber advises primarily on national and international commercial transactions. He furthermore specializes in contract law and complex litigations in commercial, construction and corporate disputes. Another focus of his practice includes energy law.
An essential part of his litigation practice is devoted to international arbitration. Wolfgang Gruber is regularly appointed as an arbitrator and acts as counsel, e.g. in proceedings under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) or of the German Arbitration Institution (DIS).
He completed both German legal state exams in Munich in 1993 and 1995. In 1996, Wolfgang Gruber acquired his LL.M.-degree ("Master of Laws") from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., USA. He received his doctorate from the University of Munich in 1997. In the same year, he was admitted to the Düsseldorf bar and started his legal career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Düsseldorf and temporarily in Paris. Wolfgang Gruber joined Taylor Wessing in 2003 as a partner.
He is a member of the YIAG of the LCIA, of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators with a "Member" status and of the DIS. Wolfgang Gruber is a lecturer at the University of Bonn, publishes in legal journals and acts as a speaker in conferences.
