As a member of the Private Client practice area, Wolfgang Galonska has a wide experience of advising high net worth individuals and their families on all aspects of their personal and private issues of life.

Wolfgang specializes in estate, trust and tax planning advice. Wealth transfer planning is a complex process, which not only requires interdisciplinary knowledge of legal and tax issues, but also a particular degree of sensitivity for the personal convenience of the client. In this context Wolfgang has an extensive and long-standing experience in the various aspects of estate planning. He advises not only on anticipated structuring, in particular the corporate set-up of family pools, but also on the concept of prospective and equitable last will dispositions, all in due consideration of the relevant corporate, tax, family and estate law issues.

Due to his qualification as mediator (DAA), Wolfgang is also specialised in the finding of solutions for internal family conflicts especially in the areas of complex estate planning matters as well as martial disputes.

With regard to family issues, Wolfgang is particularly focused on the matrimonial planning issues, especially the conception of prenuptial agreements and divorce settlements. However, he is also known as a discreetly acting representative of his client’s interests in sensitive legal divorce proceedings.

Wolfgang studied law at the universities of Göttingen, Freiburg, Lausanne and Würzburg graduating in 1981 and 1986 in Würzburg and Hannover. In 1986 Wolfgang was awarded his doctorate (Doctor iuris utriusque) at the university of Würzburg. After two years of work in Oldenburg, Wolfgang joined Taylor Wessing in 1989. In 2011 Wolfgang was appointed specialist lawyer for inheritance law.

Wolfgang is co-author of the manual "Unternehmensnachfolge", succession to business enterprises. He gives lectures concerning various aspects of estate planning and family law issues. Furthermore, for many years he worked as assistant lecturer at the University of Bonn. Wolfgang is a member of “Deutsche Vereinigung für Erbrecht und Vermögensnachfolge“ (DVEV), of “Verein der Estate Planner Deutschland“ (vedp) as well as of “Bundesverband Mittelständische Wirtschaft“ (BVMW).
