Dr. Walter Eberl specialises in arbitration, litigation and alternative dis-pute resolution. He has acted as an arbitrator in many cases and represents German and international clients as Counsel (e.g. in arbitral proceedings according to the ICC Rules of Arbitration, the Rules of the German Arbitration Institution (DIS), the Swiss Rules or in ad hoc proceedings). Dr. Walter Eberl's practice areas comprise plant engineering, engine and aircraft construction, product liability (especially in the US) and corporate disputes (including failed M&A transactions, deficient resolutions). He is particularly experienced in international litigation issues (e.g. the Hague Service Convention, EU Regulation on Jurisdiction, Lugano Convention, UN Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, UN Sales Convention).
During his traineeship and career as a lawyer Dr. Walter Eberl worked for several foreign law firms (Los Angeles, Paris and Dublin). He was admitted to practice as a lawyer in Germany in 1989 and as a solicitor in England/Wales and Ireland in 1992/1993.
Dr. Walter Eberl regularly publishes on arbitration law and international commercial law. He is the co-author of the chapters "Verfahrensrecht" (court proceedings) and "Schiedsverfahren im Gesellschaftsrecht" (arbitral proceedings in corporate law) of the WoltersKluwer compact commentary on corporate law.
