Tim is a partner in our Commercial Disputes group. Tim specialises in complex financial disputes and regulatory issues.
Recent instructions include:
- Advising a major investment bank on its legal and regulatory exposures under various structured credit transactions involving tens and hundreds of millions of dollars.
- Defending mis-selling and mis-management claims against a Bermuda hedge fund its managers and its UK promoters.
- Representing a leading private equity house in a Euro360m multi-jurisdictional dispute with lenders over acquisition financing for a stake in a European bank.
- Advising a hedge fund manager and investment manager on portfolio mismanagement claims running into hundreds of millions of dollars, and related regulatory investigations in the UK and abroad.
- Representing a major life assurance company in a multi-million dollar dispute with an investment bank concerning the redemption provisions of structured notes.
Tim is recommended for banking litigation by Chambers 2011 and for commercial litigation and financial services by Legal 500 2011.
Tim takes a keen interest in the work of the International Bar Association. He is a member of the editorial board of the IBA publication Dispute Resolution International, and an officer of the IBA’s Litigation Committee. He has been the Litigation Committee’s representative in the World Legal Forum-led project to create a specialised international dispute resolution facility for financial markets.
