Dr. Thomas Griebe – Partner

Thomas Griebe primarily advises national and international companies on all issues relating to employment law, particularly in connection with outsourcing, restructuring and transaction projects. This also involves questions on collective and individual employment law, layoffs, including reconciliation of interest and social plan proceedings, work time and compensation models (e.g. stock options) as well as co-determination and collective law. A particular focus of his work is on providing advice to US companies and employment agencies.

Thomas Griebe completed his legal education in Hamburg, Göttingen, Houston and Singapore. He obtained his doctorate with a dissertation on the economic analysis of law in Hamburg and has been a partner in the firm since 1998. Thomas Griebe is also a qualified mediator and resolves disputes between companies, employees, works councils and trade unions, both as an adviser and as a mediator.

Thomas Griebe holds numerous talks and seminars on employment law at national and international events. He also publishes articles on employment law in numerous publications. Thomas Griebe is Co-Chair of the American Bar Association´s (ABA) International Employment Law Committee and a member of the European Lawyers Association EELA as well as the German Bar Association's Working Group of Employment Lawyers (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Fachanwälte für Arbeitsrecht im Deutschen Anwaltverein).

His mother tongue is German and he is fluent in English.
