Stephan Goethel advises German and foreign companies as well as private equity investors on mergers & acquisitions, restructurings, and joint ventures. Besides, he focuses on the advice of corporations and groups of companies on general corporate law and capital market law issues.
Stephan pursued his law studies at the Universities of Muenster, Lausanne and Strassburg. In addition, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan Law School and studied at Cornell Law School (LL.M.). Moreover, Stephan worked as research and teaching assistant at Bucerius Law School. Between 2003 and 2007 he worked as a lawyer in the Hamburg office of an international leading law firm. Stephan joined Taylor Wessing’s Hamburg office in 2008.
Stephan is a lecturer of law at Bucerius Law School and teaches at the University of Hamburg. Besides, he is author of treatises, commentaries and articles in the areas of German, international and U.S. corporate and capital markets law. Finally, he is a member of the circle of regular contributors of the law journal "Recht der Internationalen Wirtschaft (RIW)".
Stephan, a native German speaker, is fluent in English.
