Stephan Goethel is a member of our Corporate Practice Group. He advises German and foreign strategic and financial investors on national and cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. Besides, he advises in all areas of German and international corporate law, including the European stock corporation.
Stephan pursued his law studies at the Universities of Muenster, Lausanne, Strasbourg, the University of Michigan Law School and Cornell Law School (LL.M.). Moreover, Stephan worked as research and teaching assistant at Bucerius Law School. Between 2003 and 2007 he worked as a lawyer in the Hamburg office of an international leading law firm. Stephan joined Taylor Wessing’s Hamburg office in 2008.
Stephan is lecturer of law at Bucerius Law School and selected member of the circle of “Regular Contributors” of the leading German law journal on international business law ("Recht der Internationalen Wirtschaft (RIW)"). Besides, he is author of numerous publications in the areas of German and international corporate and M&A law. Stephan is co-editor and co-author of the German leading treatise on cross-border M&A.
Stephan is member of the M&A Committee of the ABA Business Law Section and the German-American Lawyers’ Association.
Stephan, a native German speaker, is fluent in English.
