Söntje is a member of the Practice Area IT and Telecoms. As a main focus of her work she advises national and international enterprises from the information technology and telecommunication industry with a special focus on software, licensing, telecommunications law, E-commerce and IT-Security as well as in sector specific questions concerning general Civil and Commercial law. Apart from drafting contracts, her work also concentrates on legal supervision of technology orientated transactions and complex IT-Projects.
Söntje studied law at the universities of Gießen and Prague. After her first legal state exam in 2005 she worked as a scientific assistant at the Center of International Private and Civil Procedure Law of the University of Gießen and received a doctorate for a dissertation on “The applicability of the CISG on modern economies”. During her legal training (Referendariat) she worked inter alia for a leading international law firm and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) in Berlin. After her second legal state exam in 2009 she worked as a legal trainee in one of the leading US law firms in New York City.
Söntje has published a number of articles in legal publications about topics related to international Commercial law, E-commerce and telecommunications.
Söntje, a native German speaker, has a good knowledge of English and French. She also has basic knowledge of Czech.
