Sibylle is a German and U.S. qualified partner at the Munich office of Taylor Wessing. She is a trusted advisor in the fields of media, IT and data protection.
Her clients often are IT and media companies, but also companies from other industries who seek her advice on technology-related issues. Part of her technology focus is a long-standing data protection expertise. In this area of law she accompanies larger compliance projects, passes expert opinions on data protection relevant transactions or new IT procedures (e.g. implementation of CRM systems); also she helps develop company standards.
Sibylle is member of the data protection works council at the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (Bitkom e.V.) which is an important stakeholder and standard setter in Germany.
Sibylle studied law in Germany at the University of Hamburg where she earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence (Dr. jur.). She also studied in the U.S., where she earned a Master of Law (LL.M.) degree at Duke University, North Carolina (USA). She is admitted to the German bar since 1999 and the New York bar since 2001. She is an accredited specialist lawyer in the field of copyright and media law (Fachanwalt für Urheber- und Medienrecht). Also, she is president and founding member of the Duke Club of Germany e.V., the German alumni organization of Duke University.
Sibylle is a frequent writer, speaker and commentator on legal issues from her practice for the business press and broadcast media. Recent speeches concerned the new German data protection rules, direct marketing and behavioural marketing. She teaches “media law” at Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich.
Sibylle is a specialist solicitor for copyright and media law.
