Saleem is head of this firm’s Real Estate Disputes Group. He joined Taylor Wessing in 2004.
Saleem has experience of all types of disputes arising in relation to leasehold and freehold land. This includes dilapidations claims, service charge disputes and rent reviews.
He also puts together and implements land clearance strategies for developers. Saleem's advice is often sought prior to break options being exercised and also lease expiry in order to maximise the position and to avoid problems in the future. Saleem also pursues professional negligence claims arising from real estate transactions.
Saleem's experience and transactions include:
- Acting for numerous developers of shopping centres and other commercial buildings – specifically dealing with land clearance.
- Acting for landlords/tenants in relation to dilapidation claims both during and after expiry of leases.
- Acting for a landlord where the tenants of an office building disputed the level of balancing service charge.
- Advising tenants on their liability pursuant to leases which have been assigned.
- Dealing with points of law arising during the course of rent reviews.
