As a member of the Practice Area Corporate, Roman Bärwaldt advises both German and international clients in corporate matters and M&A transactions. He specialises in complex restructuring processes under the Company Transformation Act (mergers, demergers, change of legal form). His clients include multinational groups, listed companies as well as medium-sized and owner-operated businesses.
Roman Bärwaldt also is a Civil Law Notary with special expertise in corporate and real estate matters.
Before he joined Taylor Wessing Berlin in 2007, Roman Bärwaldt, among other things, was a founding partner of the Berlin office of a major international law firm.
Roman Bärwaldt has authored many publications in specialist magazines and co-authored the following commentaries and reference books:
Semler/Stengel, Umwandlungsgesetz (Company Transformation Act);
Beck’sches Handbuch der Personengesellschaften (Beck's Manual of business partnerships);
Haritz/Benkert, Umwandlungssteuergesetz (Company Transformation Tax Act);
Semler/Volhard, Arbeitshandbuch für die Hauptversammlung (Working manual for the general meeting of stock corporations).
He lectures on corporate topics at seminars since many years.
Roman Bärwaldt studied law and, periodically, business management at the Free University of Berlin. He was admitted to practice as a lawyer in 1990 and as a Civil Law Notary in 1996.
Roman Bärwaldt, a native speaker of German, is fluent in English and French.
