Richard Bursby – Partner

Richard Bursby is a partner in the Corporate Department and heads up the Hotels Group.  He also chairs the firm's UK China Group.

Richard has broad experience of acting for UK and international clients on a wide variety of cross border transactions in the UK, Europe and elsewhere.  He is a recognised expert in the Hotel industry, particularly regarding Hotel Management Agreements and has extensive experience of advising on numerous Hotel related mergers and acquisitions, alliances, Joint Ventures and Franchise Agreements. 

Richard also focuses on assisting companies from China to invest in the UK as well as on advising them on their ongoing business requirements as they expand and develop.

Richard is a graduate of Bristol University where he gained an LLB Hons in European Legal Studies, which involved a year studying at the Université de Rouen, France. Richard then attended Guildford College of Law, where he received a First in his Law Society Finals.  He has also worked in Madrid and Barcelona for a leading law firm in Spain.

Richard speaks Spanish.
