Philipp concentrates on the corporate aspects of structuring and financing enterprises and investments. His focus lies on Venture Capital and mezzanine investments, M&A, in- and outbound investments, joint ventures as well as real estate investment funds. For years he has been advising predominantly mid-sized companies in start ups, restructurings, financing rounds, employee incentive schemes, M&A, cross-border transactions and company succession.
Philipp has taken his first legal state exams at the University of Regensburg in 1997. He subsequently acquired his LL.M.-degree at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, with a thesis on comparative contract law. Philipp completed his legal training and his second legal state exams in Berlin in 2000 and joined Taylor Wessing.
Philipp is co-author of a handbook on mezzanine financial instruments. He also publishes articles and lectures on the subject. Philipp is a member of the Working Committee on International Legal Relations of the German Bar Association.
